KAWIT, Cavite — Local officials have distributed emergency relief assistance to families displaced by a recent fire in Barangay Manggahan Lawin in this Cavite municipality, authorities said.
Relief operations were launched immediately following the fire, with affected families receiving Department of Social Welfare and Development family food packs, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, and half a sack of rice each from the district office.
A financial assistance package of P10,000 per affected family is also being prepared for distribution on May 14, according to officials.
The relief effort was carried out under the auspices of the Cavite First District office, with the hashtag #JoloCares indicating the involvement of the Revilla family, which represents the district in Congress.
Officials urged residents across the district to exercise greater caution amid the ongoing dry season, warning that elevated temperatures increase the risk of fire incidents.
The extent of the fire, the number of families affected, and the total value of assistance provided were not immediately available. — Cavite First District Office
