TANZA’S INAUGURAL FISHING TOURNAMENT DRAWS COMPETITORS, CELEBRATES LOCAL CULTURE
TANZA, Cavite — Anglers from across the region converged on Tanza for the inaugural Julugan Boat and Shore Casting Tournament, a competition that doubled as a showcase of local fishing tradition and community spirit.
Participants competed in both boat casting and shore casting categories, displaying skill and technique in bait selection and line casting throughout the day-long event. Several competitors recorded notable catches that were highlighted during the awarding ceremony.
Beyond the competition, organizers described the tournament as a celebration of culture, tourism, and community unity, drawing not only anglers but also spectators who added to the festive atmosphere.
The Tanza Tourism, Culture and Arts office, which led the event, said the tournament is expected to become an annual fixture aimed at attracting more participants and visitors in the coming years.
