BACOOR, Cavite — A jeepney driver was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in front of a fast food restaurant in Barangay Molino III in what police described as a brazen daylight attack.
The victim, identified only by his alias “Ramil,” was inside his jeepney when a suspect arrived on a motorcycle, dismounted, and opened fire at close range around 5 p.m. The incident was reported to authorities about an hour later.
The suspect fled on the motorcycle in the direction of Dasmariñas City after the shooting. Police said the gunman remained unidentified and was described only as a male riding a motorcycle.
Responding officers from the Bacoor Component City Police Station found spent shell casings at the scene. The motive remained unclear, with investigators looking into whether the killing stemmed from a personal dispute or other circumstances.
Police appealed to the public for any information that could help identify and apprehend the suspect. A hot pursuit operation was underway.
