BACOOR, Cavite — A fire that broke out in a residential area in Barangay Niog early Wednesday escalated to a second alarm before firefighters declared it out at around 2:45 a.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection raised the blaze to a second alarm to speed up response and suppression, as the closely packed structures in the area allowed the fire to spread rapidly. The cause remained under investigation.
Firefighters from multiple stations responded and contained the fire after several hours of firefighting operations.
No official figures were immediately available on the number of injured or displaced residents. Authorities said they were still assessing the full extent of property damage.
Local officials urged residents to take precautions and ensure their homes were fire-safe to prevent similar incidents.
