TANZA, Cavite — A female judge who also serves as a commissioned reservist officer delivered a message of empowerment to women soldiers of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, during a flag-raising ceremony held March 16, 2026 at Camp Riego de Dios.

The ceremony, led by female officers as part of National Women’s Month observances, was presided over by Maj. Liezl T. Binasoy, commanding officer of the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company.

The program’s featured speaker was Flordeliz Cabanlit Fargas, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 5 Family Court and a commissioned reservist officer of the Judge Advocate General Service, AFP Reserve Command.

In her address, Fargas urged the audience to reject the notion of women as subordinates, asserting instead that women are equal partners in nation-building. She emphasized the vital role women play in national development and public service.

Fargas also shared her own academic and professional journey — graduating magna cum laude in Political Science from Silliman University in 1988, completing her law degree at San Beda College in 1992, and passing the Philippine Bar Examination.

Her achievements have earned international recognition as well. Fargas represented the Philippines in the Rising Leaders Cohort of the International Association of Women Judges at its 16th biennial conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, and served as Asia-Pacific representative to the Program and Education Committee at the association’s 17th biennial conference in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2024.

Reserve Command leadership thanked Fargas for her participation and encouraged the women soldiers in attendance to continue demonstrating leadership, excellence, and dedication in their service to the country.
