GRASS FIRE HITS PORTIONS OF EMILIO AGUINALDO HIGHWAY IN SILANG, CAVITE

SILANG, Cavite – A grass fire erupted along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway early Thursday morning, affecting areas in Barangay Lucsuhin and nearby Barangay Lalalan 1st.

Authorities responded immediately to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of residents and motorists.

Initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) indicate no injuries have been reported.

The fire spread quickly through dry grass and roadside vegetation, causing temporary traffic disruptions and concern among passersby.

Responding agencies included the BFP, MDRRMO, Silang Traffic Management Office (STMO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Firefighters and rescue teams deployed water trucks and equipment to prevent the fire from spreading to residential and commercial areas.

A BFP member said the rapid response by agencies helped prevent the situation from worsening. Crews continue to monitor the area to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

The local government advised motorists and residents to remain alert, avoid the incident area and follow official advisories. Residents in nearby areas were also reminded of fire prevention measures, such as clearing dry grass and properly disposing of flammable waste.

Silang, known for its vast grasslands and agricultural land, is susceptible to fires, especially during the dry season. The incident has prompted renewed community reminders about the importance of early preparedness and responsible environmental management to prevent such disasters.
