NOVELETA, Cavite — Vendors at the Noveleta Public Market warned fellow merchants about a couple, believed to be of foreign descent, possibly Pakistani, after one of their peers allegedly lost P48,000 in a scam.
According to reports, the pair used a distraction scheme while purchasing goods, leaving the victim seemingly dazed and handing over the money.
CCTV footage showed the man taking the cash and handing it to the woman.
The incident has been recorded in a police blotter, and authorities are tracking down the suspects.
Vendors urged anyone with information about the couple’s whereabouts to come forward to prevent further incidents.
