BACOOR, Cavite – A viral video showing metal sheets used as a temporary fix for potholes in Barangay Niog, Bacoor City under the leadership of Mayor Strike Revilla has sparked outrage among netizens, who called the move unsafe and poorly thought out.
In the video posted by Reddit user Consistent_Leader723 on the subreddit r/Cavite, large metal plates can be seen covering potholes along a public road.
The uploader warned that the improvised solution poses a hazard to motorists.
“Mas nakakasira kaya ng sasakyan ang bakal, jusko,” one commenter said, expressing frustration that the metal might cause more vehicle damage than the potholes themselves.
Another added, “Need ata may madisgrasya muna bago maespalto,” criticizing the perceived lack of urgency in providing a proper asphalt solution.
Local authorities have yet to comment on the issue.
