DOH launches “Bakuna Eskwela” Program in Cavite

CARMONA, Cavite — The Department of Health’s Center for Health Development (CHD) in CALABARZON launched its “Bakuna Eskwela” program this week at the Angelo L. Loyola Senior High School in Barangay Lantic, Carmona City, Cavite.

The program, which is part of the DOH’s National Immunization Program (NIP), aims to combat vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and human papillomavirus (HPV). The program was initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DOH targets to vaccinate 3,908 students from Grades 1, 4, and 7 in public schools in Carmona under the program.

Health Undersecretary Dr. Ariel Valencia, Assistant Secretary Liza Perez Chiong, 5th District Rep. Roy Loyola, and Carmona City Mayor Dahlia Loyola attended the ceremonial vaccination.

The “Bakuna Eskwela” program is part of the DOH’s efforts to increase vaccination rates among schoolchildren and prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.
