The Department of Justice (DOJ) has cleared 10 former members of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-National Capital Region Police Office (RDEU-NCRPO) who were accused of kidnapping four drug suspects in Cavite in 2021.
Those cleared of charges of kidnapping, serious illegal detention, and enforced disappearances include former RDEU-NCRPO chief Lt. Col. Ryan Jay Orapa, Lt. Jesus Mene, Staff Sgt. Roy Pioquinto, Staff Sgt. Robert Allan Raz Jr., Staff Sgt. Denar Roda, Staff Sgt. Alfredo Andes, Cpl. Alric Natividad, Cpl. Ronald John Lanara, Cpl. Reynaldo Seno Jr., and Cpl. Troy Paragas.
Also cleared were Cpl. Ronald Montibon, Cpl. Ruscel DC Soloman, Cpl. Christal Rhine Rosita, and Cpl. Jovelyn Tamagos, as well as civilians Angelo Atienza, Nicasio Manio, and Nicholes Manio.
The cleared police officers have returned to duty with the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, except for Paragas, who was dismissed from service due to an unrelated case.
