A female patient was fatally shot inside a hospital emergency room in Dasmariñas City, early Wednesday morning, Dasma police reported.

The victim, identified as Chatty Timbang, 36, was killed when unidentified assailants opened fire in the hospital.

Her mother, who was sleeping beside her, was wounded in the thigh.

A security guard and another woman were also injured by stray bullets in the attack, according to authorities.

The suspects fled on motorcycles, but one was later apprehended following a pursuit operation.

Investigators believe the motive for the crime was likely retaliation, as the victim had allegedly provided information to police about illegal activities in their area.

The suspects are facing charges of murder and multiple counts of frustrated murder, police said.
