POGO Worker Escapes Kidnappers and Found in Cavite

A 28-year-old Indonesian national was found in Silang, Cavite on Monday, May 20, after escaping from his kidnappers.

According to the Region 4A police, several officials from Barangay Malabag found Teddy Sufendy around 7:30 am in front of an evangelical church in the same barangay.

Sufendy reported that several unidentified people kidnapped him on May 4 in Makati City; he was tied up, taken to Tagaytay City, and stripped of his possessions, including his identification cards and P5,000 in cash.

He escaped from his kidnappers and walked for four hours until he was found in Brgy. Malabag.

According to authorities, the victim is a resident of Makati City and an employee of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO) there.

The details of Sufendy’s escape and the identity of his kidnappers are still under investigation.
