The Imus police have arrested a drug suspect and seized P136,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malagasang 2-G, City of Imus, Cavite, on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

The suspect, who goes by the alias “Sob”, was caught in the act of selling shabu to a police officer who acted as a poseur buyer, according to a press release from the Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

Sob, a resident of Barangay Pasong Camachile, Gen. Trias City, Cavite, was found in possession of ten heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing crystalline substance suspected as shabu, a leather pouch, and the buy-bust money.

The seized illegal drugs weighed more or less 20 grams and had a standard drug price of P136,000.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Imus Component City Police Station for processing and documentation while a case for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was being prepared against him.

The confiscated pieces of evidence will be brought to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit, City of Imus, Cavite, for examination.

The CPPO, led by PCOL ELEUTERIO M RICARDO JR, commended the lead unit and the Imus police for their notable accomplishments and unwavering effort in intensifying anti-criminality operations against lawless elements in the province.

The CPPO also encouraged the community to be a part of the Philippine National Police’s efforts to curb criminality in the province.

“Magtulong-tulong tayo, at magpatuloy sa ating mas pinaigting na kampanya laban sa kriminalidad sa ating lalawigan,” PCOL RICARDO said.
