A drug dealer was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The suspect, identified only as alias “Andoy”, was caught selling shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover police officer in Barangay Burol 3. He was found in possession of seven sachets of shabu, weighing about 65 grams, a coin purse, and a 500-peso bill used as marked money.
The seized shabu has a street value of 448,500 pesos, based on the standard drug price set by the PNP.
The suspect is now detained at the Dasmariñas Component City Police Station, where he will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The evidence will be submitted to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
The buy-bust operation was led by the Dasmariñas police, under the supervision of PCOL ELEUTERIO M RICARDO JR, the provincial director of Cavite.
PBGEN PAUL KENNETH T LUCAS, the regional director of PRO CALABARZON, praised the police for their successful operation and urged the public to support the PNP’s campaign against criminality in the province.
“Magtulong tulong tayo, at magpatuloy sa ating mas pinaigting na kampanya laban sa kriminalidad sa ating lalawigan,” he said in a statement.
