INDANG, Cavite — Barangay Mahabangkahoy Lejos in Indang, Cavite, placed first runner-up nationwide in the 2026 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) in the 1st Class Municipalities category.
The barangay received the award Nov. 5 during the LTIA National Awarding Ceremony at the Philippine National Police Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The recognition reflects the effective implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay, the community-level justice system, and the dedication of Lupong Tagapamayapa members and barangay officials in promoting peaceful settlement of disputes, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Calabarzon region.
Mahabangkahoy Lejos was among the top-performing barangays from Calabarzon that competed at the national level against entries from across the country.
The DILG regional office said the award shows the competence and tireless service of local officials in strengthening mechanisms for justice and peace in communities.
The office said the achievement is expected to inspire other barangays in Cavite to improve their programs by resolving conflicts effectively and maintaining unity.
