SILANG, Cavite — A planned attack, including gunfire, at a high school here was foiled after a student member of the group allegedly behind the plot tipped off the school principal, police said.
The Silang Municipal Police Station said it received a call at 3 p.m. two days ago from the principal of Lumil National High School reporting a threat against the school.
According to investigators, a messenger group chat named “Pinoy Real Gang (PRG)” was allegedly created on Sept. 20 at around 7:38 p.m., with the school principal and several faculty members added to it.
An anonymous member of the group later sent a message saying they had been present at a meeting in the principal’s office the previous Friday, where the group’s leader allegedly planned to cause trouble at the school “Monday or Tuesday, on a different day,” and that a gun would allegedly be brought.
The person said they were leaving the group chat and apologized to teachers, saying they were unable to add another individual, referred to as “Ser Riggie,” to the conversation.
School officials immediately reported the threat to police, who are conducting an ocular inspection of the campus. The case has also been referred to the police Anti-Cybercrime Unit for further investigation.
