Cavite student’s GPA matches her student number in rare coincidence

CAVITE, Philippines — A graduating student at Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite noticed an unusual coincidence on her diploma: her final grade point average matched the last four digits of her student number.

Czarina Beatrice Sanchez-Sampilo’s rounded overall GPA of 1.084 corresponded exactly with the final digits of her student number, 01084, the university said.

Sampilo graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, majoring in Marketing Management. She maintained her standing as a Dean’s Lister and resident scholar for four consecutive years.

She also served as president of the College of Business Administration Student Government during her time at the university, and she represented LPU-Cavite in various competitions and events, earning multiple research and academic awards.

Sampilo said she viewed the matching numbers as more than coincidence, describing it as a meaningful sign that came after years of effort throughout her education.
