CSU-Andrews alumna finishes Top 7 in PNPA Class of 2026

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A Cagayan State University graduate has ranked seventh among 326 graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy’s “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026.

Hazelyne Pearl Magora, a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduate of CSU’s Andrews Campus, placed seventh in the graduating class after completing the academy’s rigorous academic, physical, and tactical training.

The PNPA class graduated under the theme “Pagsilang ng Bagong Hanay: Sandigan ng Hustisya, Pag-asa ng Mamamayan” — symbolizing a new generation of law enforcers committed to justice and public service. The class was drawn from more than 33,000 applicants nationwide, of whom 326 cadets — 230 males and 96 females — successfully completed the program.

In a Facebook post, Magora credited her time at CSU-Andrews for shaping her path, citing the university’s motto, “Ad astra per aspera” — through hardships, to the stars — as her guiding principle throughout her training.

“I never thought this phrase would guide my days in the Academy,” she said, acknowledging that she had initially feared giving up a nearly completed accountancy career, including job offers and personal goals.

She said the sacrifice proved worthwhile. “What I left behind was not wasted; it became the foundation on which I rebuilt myself,” Magora said.

Before entering the academy, Magora held several student leadership positions at CSU-Andrews, including Governor of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy from 2021 to 2022, President of the Athena Debate Society from 2019 to 2021, and Vice President of the Campus Student Council from 2020 to 2021.
