SILANG, Cavite – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended the driver’s license of an SUV driver involved in a viral road rage incident in Cavite for 90 days.

The LTO said the suspension is in response to a directive from the president to hold abusive drivers accountable.

According to the agency, the driver was allegedly intoxicated and displayed aggressive behavior toward another motorist.

The LTO immediately issued a show-cause order to the vehicle’s owner, requiring them to explain why the driver should not face appropriate penalties.

The incident occurred on Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, Cavite, and involved a Toyota Hilux and a passenger bus.

The driver could face charges of reckless driving and other related violations.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza said the agency is also determining the identity of the person behind the wheel.

“We want to know if the vehicle was sold or lent to someone else,” Mendoza said. “This will help us identify the true identity of the person involved.”

He credited the LTO Region IV-A office, led by Regional Director Asuncion, for their swift action and assured the public of a prompt response in such cases.
