Three additional mayors from Cavite province have joined the “Mayors for Good Governance” initiative, expanding the coalition focused on transparency and accountability in local government projects.
The new members are Mendez Mayor Cocoy Mendoza, Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat and Magallanes Mayor Janessa Maligaya-De Ramayo, according to an announcement Wednesday.
The initiative, which emphasizes transparency, accountability and justice in government projects, particularly those related to flood control, previously included General Trias City Mayor Jon-Jon Ferrer and Naic Mayor Rommel Magbitang.
The expansion comes as Cavite continues to grapple with flooding issues during the monsoon season.
The coalition aims to ensure proper oversight of infrastructure projects designed to address these recurring problems.
Details about specific flood control projects under review or the initiative’s organizational structure were not immediately available.
