KAWIT, Cavite — A man and a woman were arrested in a drug bust operation in Barangay Toclong, Kawit, Cavite last week for alleged drug and firearm violations, police said.
The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Andoy” and “Jacky,” both residents of Barangay Toclong, were apprehended around 7:30 p.m. during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Operatives, led by Police Captain Ernesto G. Monastrial II, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Resty E. Soriano, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-4A).
Authorities seized one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the suspects, who allegedly sold the substance during the buy-bust operation. Additionally, police recovered a 9mm pistol with two live rounds of ammunition in the suspects’ possession.
The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language they understood and were brought to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further disposition. They face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Kawit police vowed to continue their aggressive campaign against all forms of criminality, emphasizing a strong stance against illegal drugs and activities in Kawit, Cavite.
