BACOOR CITY, Cavite — The local government of Bacoor City is under fire from residents and netizens after flood victims reportedly received relief packs with note “Team Revilla” containing only one kilogram of rice and two cans of sardines.

The relief distribution came in response to recent flooding that affected several areas in the city due to heavy rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon.

While the aid was meant to provide immediate assistance, many recipients expressed dismay over the quantity and quality of the relief goods. The criticism intensified after reports surfaced that beneficiaries were required to present stubs before claiming the limited aid.

“Relief goods sa Bacoor—my goodness. Tapos need pa daw ng stub nyan? Nakakahiya naman ang city hall ng Bacoor,” one netizen wrote in a viral post. “Pera ng taong bayan yan. ‘Wag n’yo tipirin ang tao. Tapos kayo mga nakaupo d’yan sa gobyerno, puro pasarap. Titigas ng mukha n’yo.”

As photos of the relief packs circulated online, residents questioned how the city government was utilizing public funds for disaster response.

Calls for transparency and a more compassionate approach to emergency aid echoed across social media platforms.

As of this writing, Bacoor City officials have yet to release a statement addressing the backlash or providing an explanation regarding the budget allocation for the relief operations.
