IMUS, Cavite — The City Government of Imus reported a total of 553 dengue cases as of July 7, 2025, with health authorities urging continued vigilance despite a noted decrease in new infections.

Of the total cases, 416 have been confirmed, 63 are classified as probable, and 74 are considered suspected. The barangays with the highest recorded cases are Buhay na Tubig with 43 cases, followed by Malagasang 2-B with 34, Pasong Buaya 2 with 33, Malagasang 1-F with 31, and Malagasang 1-G with 27.

While local officials acknowledged the declining trend, they emphasized the importance of sustained preventive measures to combat the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.

Authorities are promoting the “5S” strategy, which includes searching for and destroying mosquito-breeding sites, seeking immediate medical consultation upon the onset of symptoms, discouraging indiscriminate fogging that only disperses adult mosquitoes without addressing larvae and eggs, observing self-protection by wearing long and light-colored clothing and using mosquito repellents, and maintaining proper hydration, especially in cases of fever or vomiting related to dengue.

Health experts remind residents to watch for symptoms such as high fever lasting two to seven days, muscle and joint pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, skin rashes, abdominal pain, vomiting, and bleeding of the nose or gums.

Individuals experiencing any of these symptoms are advised to seek prompt medical attention at the nearest health center to prevent complications.

The Imus City Health Office has also made its Dengue Hotline available through the numbers (046) 711-1001 and 711-1002 for consultations and guidance.

City officials stressed that preventing the spread of dengue requires the active participation of every household and community, adding that public cooperation remains critical in safeguarding the health and safety of all Imuseños.
