Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), operator of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), launched the 2025 edition of its “Biyaheng South” tourism campaign, a three-day road tour aimed at boosting travel to Southern Luzon’s key destinations.

The initiative, co-presented by Landco Pacific Corp. in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region IV-A and local government units, brought a select group of content creators, media, and contest winners—dubbed “Ka-Biyaheros”—to sites in Cavite and Batangas via MPT South’s expressway network.

Participants began the tour with a drive along CALAX, including an exclusive preview of the upcoming Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, Cavite, set to open in 2025. The new access point is expected to decongest local roads and reduce travel time to towns such as Carmona, General Trias, and Silang.

The group visited Kura Café in General Trias, known for its specialty coffee and fusion dishes, before heading to Batangas for a lakeside cruise on Taal Lake and lunch featuring regional cuisine.

In Calatagan, Batangas, Ka-Biyaheros stayed at Calatagan South Beach (CaSoBe), a master-planned beachside development by Landco. The group participated in island-hopping tours, water activities at Aquaria Water Park, and a sunset visit to Cape Santiago Lighthouse.

The final day included stops in Carmona, Cavite, with breakfast at Chantilly Café and a go-kart session at the Carmona Racetrack. The tour concluded at the DEAFinitely Happy Store, a social enterprise supporting the deaf community through locally made goods.

“As we expand the horizons of Biyaheng South, our goal remains the same: to bring people closer to the beauty and stories of Southern Luzon,” said Arlette Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management at MPT South.

Tourism Director Marites Castro praised the campaign, calling it “a vital initiative that enhances regional connectivity, promotes sustainable tourism, and supports local economic development.”

The annual campaign underscores the role of infrastructure in driving tourism and regional development, MPT South said.
