Election Leader of Naic Mayor-Elect Shot Dead in Cavite

NAIC, Cavite – The election leader of Naic Mayor-elect Rommel Magbitang was shot dead Saturday afternoon in Barangay Sabang.

The victim was identified as Shackie Denajiba, 48, a resident of Ciudad Nuevo in the same barangay, according to a report from the Naic Municipal Police Station.

Denajiba was reportedly about to step out of his vehicle around 5 p.m. when an unidentified gunman shot him.

Two suspects fled the scene on a scooter heading toward Trece Martires City. One of them was described as wearing a blue jacket, gray T-shirt, denim pants, and a white hat.

Denajiba was said to be among the key leaders of Mayor-elect Magbitang’s campaign team.

Police said the motive behind the killing remains under investigation. They also cautioned against linking the incident to the recently concluded elections, saying that such speculation could mislead the public without solid evidence.
