Two of the most coveted awards in the field of Public Relations and Communications—the Anvil and Quill Awards—were bestowed upon Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), the operator of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), for its outstanding communication programs.

MPT South’s ‘#Eggstrasafe’ campaign, which went viral on social media for its creative approach to road safety, won the Silver Anvil in the PR Program – Best Use of Social Media category, during the 59th Anvil Awards Night on January 31, 2024.

The company also received the Quill Award of Merit for its 2022 Calendar titled ‘Home-grown Heroes’, which featured the stories of courage and resilience of its employees and partners during the pandemic.

Both awards ceremonies were held at Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City on January 23, 2024.

Raul L. Ignacio, President and General Manager of MPT South, said, “We are extremely honored by these recognitions, which reflect our passion for excellence. We are more than just toll roads; we are here to serve the people—our motorists, the planet, and progress. These awards motivate us to keep raising the bar for our campaigns for the common good.”

The ‘#Eggstrasafe’ campaign aimed to reduce over-speeding incidents, a major cause of road accidents and injuries. MPT South also bagged another Silver Anvil for its 2023 Calendar titled “Better Ways” under the PR Tools- Publication category.

This calendar showcased the company’s steadfast commitment to sustainability, highlighting People, Planet, and Progress.

In 2023, the International Association of Business Communication (IABC) received 815 entries for the Quill Award, while the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) received XXX entries for Anvil.

MPT South also earned the following awards in 2023: Quill Award of Merit for Drayberks (2022), a hybrid road safety education campaign; Quill Award of Excellence for Biyaheng South (2022), a digital tourism marketing campaign; and Quill Award of Merit for the 2022 Calendar titled ‘Home-grown Heroes’
