Cavite Honors 29 SEA Games Medalists in Simple Ceremony

The Provincial Government of Cavite celebrated the achievements of 29 Caviteño athletes who brought home medals from the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia last May 2023. The athletes were recognized in a simple ceremony held on December 28, 2023 at the Ceremonial Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, Trece Martires City.

The medalists received cash incentives from the provincial government, ranging from P20,000 to P50,000, depending on the color of their medals. The gold medalists were given P50,000 each, the silver medalists P30,000 each, and the bronze medalists P20,000 each.

The cash incentives were meant to show gratitude and encouragement to the athletes, who displayed excellence, determination, and sportsmanship in their respective sports. The recognition also highlighted the value of hard work and achievement, as well as the importance of sports in the development of the province and the country.

Mr. Rodel Vincent T. Bae, OIC-Provincial Administrator and Mr. Gerry Olaes, OPG- Executive Assistant V, along with the staff of the Office of the Provincial Youth Development Officer, welcomed and congratulated the athletes at the event. Mr. Bae and Mr. Olaes also expressed their support and appreciation for the athletes, who boosted the morale and pride of the province with their performance at the SEA Games.

The provincial government hopes that the rewards and recognition for the Caviteño athletes will inspire the younger generation to pursue their dreams in sports and to live an active and healthy lifestyle. The province also aims to foster a culture of excellence and to support the development of sports in Cavite.
