A significant arrest has been made in the ongoing battle against drug-related crime in Kawit, Cavite.
The suspect, known locally as “Arman”, was apprehended on the evening of 24 April 2024, following a successful operation by the local Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives.
The operation, which took place in Brgy. San Sebastian, was part of an intensified campaign by the Kawit Municipal Police Station to combat all forms of criminality. The station, under the direct supervision of PLTCOL Richard D Corpuz, has been rolling out aggressive law enforcement operations to prevent, if not eradicate, crime from the community.
Arman was arrested for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 and PD 1602. He was caught selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a substance suspected to be “Shabu”, a local term for methamphetamine.
Following his arrest, Arman was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language he understood. He was then taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for further documentation and proper disposition.
