Naic mayor appeals to Marcos for urgent help with worsening garbage problem

NAIC, Cavite — Mayor Rommel Magbitang has appealed to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for immediate assistance in resolving the town’s worsening garbage problem.

Magbitang said Naic had opened its doors to house residents displaced by a reclamation project when the need arose. Now, he said, it was time for Naic to ask the national government for urgent help with its own waste problem.

The mayor said support from Malacañang and relevant government agencies was needed to find a long-term solution to the problem, which he said was taking a toll on residents’ health, the environment and overall welfare.
