TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — A 23-year-old Lalamove rider was wounded after an unidentified gunman shot him and stole his motorcycle in Barangay Conchu early Saturday, police said.
The Trece Martires Component City Police Station said the shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. in Purok 4, Barangay Conchu. Police received a report from a barangay watchman at around 3:10 a.m. and responded to the scene.
Officers found the victim lying on the road, conscious but wounded by gunshots.
Investigators said the victim was riding his red-and-black Honda Click 125, fitted with a Grab delivery box, along Conchu Road en route to Barangay Pangil, Amadeo, when the suspect blocked his path. The gunman fired twice, causing the victim to fall, then fled with the motorcycle toward Pangil, Amadeo, police said.
Responding officers later found the motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect abandoned at the scene. It was taken into police custody for forensic examination.
The victim was rushed to General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital, where he remains under close medical observation.
The Trece Martires police station has launched a dragnet and manhunt for the suspect, and is reviewing nearby CCTV footage and gathering intelligence to identify and arrest him.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive for the shooting and recover the victim’s stolen motorcycle.
