BRIDGE ON GEN. TRIAS DRIVE CLOSED DUE TO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE

GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite — The San Juan-I Bridge along Gen. Trias Drive has been temporarily closed to all vehicles after two of its beams gave way, traffic authorities announced.

A rerouting scheme is in effect while the bridge undergoes inspection and possible repairs.

Authorities issued the following alternative routes:

  • Light vehicles from Brgy. San Juan I (Gen. Trias Drive) heading to Sta. Clara (Arnaldo Highway) may pass through Pennsylvania Subdivision, turn right onto Governor Ferrer Drive, and continue to Brgy. Pinagtipunan via Tozawamura Road, and vice versa.
  • Heavy vehicles (8-wheelers and above) are prohibited from using Gen. Trias Drive between Tejero and Anyana Crossing toward Governor Ferrer Drive and Arnaldo Highway.
  • All heavy vehicles from Sta. Clara (Arnaldo Highway) must use Governor Ferrer Drive through Malabon Crossing toward Brgy. Pinagtipunan, and vice versa.
  • Six-wheelers and below are allowed to pass through Pennsylvania Subdivision and Tozawamura Road.
  • Vehicles from Sta. Clara may also use the Sta. Clara–Vibora Bridge toward Gen. Trias Town Proper, connecting to Gen. Trias Drive and Centennial Highway via NIA Road.
  • Vehicles from Brgy. 1896th must turn left toward Prinza Intersection only.

Authorities urged motorists to follow traffic personnel, exercise caution, and avoid the affected bridge and surrounding roads. The situation is being continuously monitored.
