A motorcycle rider is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times by another motorist following a road rage confrontation along Tirona Highway in Barangay Kanluran, Kawit, Cavite, police said.
The incident occurred at around 10 p.m., when the victim, identified only by his alias Manuel, and the suspect, identified as Ely, were riding their respective motorcycles along the highway when their vehicles sideswiped each other.
Police said the victim stopped and confronted the suspect, and at one point retrieved a bladed weapon from his compartment, allegedly to intimidate the other party. The two then exchanged heated words before the victim eventually returned to his motorcycle to leave.
The suspect followed and stabbed the victim repeatedly before fleeing, according to investigators.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he remains under observation. The suspect was arrested at the scene and was reportedly intoxicated at the time of his apprehension.
