KAWIT, Cavite — The school publication of Gahak Marulas Elementary School was recognized as one of the best school papers in the CALABARZON region and was featured as a standout participant at the National Schools Press Conference 2026 exhibit.
Ang Bagwis, the school’s official publication, was among select school papers from across the country that showcased their work at the NSPC 2026 exhibit, drawing recognition for its journalism quality, creativity, and commitment to student reporting.
School officials said the recognition at both the regional and national levels was a significant honor for the publication and its student journalists.
The school credited School Head Manny Ilustrisimo and the DepEd Kawit District under District Supervisor Rolando B. Talon Jr. for their guidance and support.
The National Schools Press Conference is an annual competition organized by the Department of Education that brings together the country’s top student journalists to compete and exhibit their work across various fields of campus journalism.
School officials said they would continue to pursue excellence in campus journalism and develop responsible and creative student journalists in the years ahead.
