IMUS CITY, Cavite — A man was arrested Sunday evening after being caught stealing aluminum frames worth around P40,000 in Barangay Palico 2, and was found during a body search to be carrying marijuana, police said.
The Imus Component City Police Station said the victim caught the suspect in the act of taking the aluminum frames at around 6:30 p.m. on April 12. The complainant immediately sought help from barangay officials and police, leading to the suspect’s arrest at around 7:15 p.m.
During a body search, officers found five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing approximately 16.18 grams with an estimated value of P1,941.06.
Also recovered from the suspect were the stolen aluminum frames, a kitchen knife, and a flat screwdriver allegedly used in the theft.
Charges for theft and violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, are being prepared for filing before the Imus City Prosecutor’s Office.
