3 arrested, gun seized in series of Kawit drug busts
KAWIT, Cavite — Police arrested three suspected street-level drug personalities in a series of buy-bust operations conducted over several hours from the evening of March 19 to the early morning of March 20.
The Kawit Municipal Police Station carried out the operations, which began around 9:45 p.m. in Barangay Balsahan Bisita with the arrest of a suspect identified only as “Jayjay.” Authorities seized three sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.3 grams with an estimated street value of 2,040 pesos, along with the marked money used in the operation.
About two hours later, at 11:20 p.m., another suspect identified as “Jess” was arrested in the same barangay. Officers recovered three sachets of suspected shabu of similar weight and value, along with buy-bust money.
The final operation took place around 1 a.m. on March 20 in Barangay Toclong, where a suspect identified as “Teodorico” was apprehended. In addition to three sachets of suspected shabu, authorities seized an unmarked caliber .38 revolver and three bullets. The suspect now faces additional charges for illegal possession of firearms under Republic Act 10591.
Police said all operations were conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and were documented using an alternative recording device to ensure proper buy-bust protocols.
The suspects remain in custody at the Kawit Municipal Police Station as charges are being prepared.
Authorities said they continue to intensify their anti-illegal drug campaign across the province as part of efforts to rid communities of prohibited drugs.
