IMUS, Cavite — Police arrested a robbery suspect and recovered stolen electronics and an unlicensed firearm in Imus City, Cavite, authorities said Thursday.

Officers from the Imus Component City Police Station identified the suspect only by his alias, Rommel, a resident of Imus City.

According to police, a store owner reported finding the roll-up door of her shop forcibly opened. Security camera footage showed the suspect using a wrench to break the padlock before making off with two iPhones, an iPad, an Apple Watch and AirPods valued at approximately 46,700 pesos.

Investigators launched a follow-up operation that led to Rommel’s arrest. A search incident to the arrest yielded the stolen items along with an unlicensed firearm loaded with three rounds of ammunition.

The suspect faces charges of robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Cavite Police Provincial Director Ariel R. Red credited the quick response of Imus officers for the arrest.

“The prompt action and successful follow-up operation of our Imus police demonstrate our commitment to protecting local businesses and ensuring that criminals are held accountable,” Red said.
