TANZA, Cavite — Authorities discovered a dead fetus estimated to be 5 months old inside a styrofoam container on Casanueva Street in Barangay Biga on Jan. 31, 2026 at midday.
A resident reported the suspicious container to barangay officials, who immediately notified authorities, according to local officials.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development office and the Philippine National Police Tanza are leading the investigation into the case.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify any individuals responsible. Officials said they will ensure proper and dignified burial for the fetus.
Barangay and police officials are asking the public to come forward with any information that could help solve the case.
