IMUS City, Cavite — A Facebook post comparing Christmas aid packages from the city governments of Imus and Makati drew reactions on social media Thursday.
An Imus resident wrote that the value of the gift she received from the Imus city government was equivalent only to the ham reportedly distributed in Makati.
She expressed dismay, noting that all citizens pay taxes on goods, utilities and other expenses.
“Receiving this kind of Christmas gift happens only once a year, and yet it feels so sparing,” she wrote in a post mixing humor and frustration.
Other social media users continued to discuss equity in the distribution of aid and how different local governments manage funds for resident benefits.
