CAVITE, Philippines — The Cavite Provincial Health Office (PHO) has urged residents to remain alert for symptoms of influenza as cases of respiratory illnesses typically rise during the cooler months.
In an advisory, the PHO reminded the public that influenza, or flu, is a contagious respiratory disease that can cause mild to severe symptoms.
Common signs include fever, cough, muscle and joint pain, headache, sore throat, nasal congestion, and fatigue.
Health officials advised individuals experiencing these symptoms to wear a face mask and visit the nearest health center for medical consultation.
The province offers free medical services and medicines to assist in early recovery and prevent complications.
The PHO also stressed the importance of practicing good hygiene, covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing, and staying home when sick to prevent the spread of the virus.
