KAWIT, Cavite – The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, now in the final stages of construction in Kawit’s Evo City, is poised to become a new landmark of faith and architecture in Cavite’s fast-developing central business district.
The project, designed by award-winning firm Dominic Galicia Architects, merges spiritual symbolism with modern craftsmanship. Its layout is inspired by the vesica piscis—a shape formed by the intersection of two circles that early Christians used as a discreet symbol of their faith during Roman persecution. The figure now defines the church’s pointed structure, reflecting both tradition and innovation.
Located near the main entrance of Evo City along Centennial Road, the church is envisioned as a community hub, serving not only as a place of worship but also as a venue for gatherings and religious activities.
The development is part of the larger Evo City masterplan by Ayala Land, which positions Kawit as a new growth center for commerce, residences, and institutions in southern Metro Manila.
Cavite, a province rich in historical and religious heritage, has long been home to centuries-old churches that played a role in both faith and nationhood.
The new Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church aims to complement this legacy by introducing a contemporary yet deeply symbolic space for devotion, standing as a beacon for both residents and visitors.
Once completed, the church is expected to become a defining feature of Kawit’s Evo City’s landscape—an emblem of how modern urban planning can integrate spiritual identity into a growing business and lifestyle hub.
