NAIC, Cavite – A 76-year-old widower from Magallanes, Cavite, and a 66-year-old food vendor from Naic are set to marry after meeting only a week ago, in a story that has quickly spread across the province.
Crisencio, 76, proposed to Adelma, 66, after buying pancit from her breakfast stall in Barangay Malainen Bago.
He later formally asked for her hand in marriage, bringing two live chickens as a traditional gesture.
Both families, who said they welcomed the relationship, confirmed that the couple had already lost their previous spouses.
Adelma’s children said they plan to schedule a civil wedding at the Naic municipal hall next week.
Crisencio said he is ready to help Adelma in her daily work selling home-cooked meals, while Adelma described him as caring and devoted.
Their families said preparations are underway for a simple ceremony to mark the start of their new life together.
