KAWIT, Cavite — Two individuals were arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by local police and agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Toclong, Kawit on July 30, 2025, authorities said Friday.
The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Van” and “Ela,” both residents of Malaingen Bago, Naic, Cavite, were caught during a buy-bust operation around 4:45 p.m. and were found in possession of a small heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu.
The operation was carried out by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Unit led by PCpt. Ernesto G. Monasterial II, under the supervision of PLtCol. Resty E. Soriano, in coordination with PDEA Region 4A.
Police said the suspects were immediately informed of their constitutional rights and were brought to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and appropriate legal procedures.
The suspects will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a statement, Kawit police said the operation reflects their ongoing commitment to fighting criminality and sends a stern warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade.
