2 Elderly Women Killed in House Fire in Gen. Trias, Cavite

GEN. TRIAS, Cavite — Two elderly women died after a fire broke out at their residence in Barangay Manggahan, General Trias City, Cavite, early Friday morning, June 6, local police said.

The victims were identified as “Arsenia,” 80, and “Leticia,” 76, according to a report from Region 4A police. The blaze reportedly started at around 3:35 a.m. and was declared under control by firefighters by 5:00 a.m.

Authorities have yet to determine the relationship between the two women or the exact circumstances of their deaths. It is also unclear if any relatives were present during the incident. No other injuries or property damage were reported.

Investigators are probing the cause of the fire, which is believed to have originated from a faulty electrical outlet.

An investigation is ongoing.
