Tension flared in a private subdivision in Barangay Timalan Balsahan, Naic, Cavite, after supporters of a mayoral candidate clashed with security personnel at the village gate, video footage showed.
According to protesting supporters, they were barred from entering the subdivision by guards citing lack of prior notice and a permit from the Homeowners Association (HOA). The group insisted on proceeding with their campaign activity, prompting a standoff at the entrance.
A video of the incident showed a man and a woman manning the gate, telling the group that they must exit the same way they entered. The remarks appeared to provoke the crowd further, leading to a brief physical confrontation.
Eventually, the gate was opened, allowing the supporters to enter.
Once inside, they continued chanting and shouting the name of their candidate for mayor of Naic.
