Cavite and the rest of Luzon are bracing for heavy to torrential rainfall as Tropical Storm NikaPH (Toraji) is expected to make landfall in the Aurora-Isabela area, but its outer rain bands are forecast to affect a wider area, including Cavite.
The storm’s outer rain bands are expected to bring heavy rainfall to most of Luzon, particularly in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, parts of CALABARZON, Metro Manila, and the Bicol Region, according to satellite IR simulation.
Residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas are advised to evacuate immediately as a precautionary measure.
As of the latest bulletin from the DOST-PAGASA on November 9, 5:00 PM, Tropical Storm NikaPH has intensified with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 80 km/h.
The storm is moving westward at a speed of 35 km/h and was located 755 km east of Infanta, Quezon as of 2:00 AM on November 10.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised over the southeastern portion of Quezon, including the towns of Calauag, Guinayangan, Tagkawayan, and the Polillo Group of Islands.
Residents in these areas can expect strong winds and heavy rainfall within the next 36 hours.
The public is advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
