Cavite Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino on Friday inspected the provincial government’s emergency response logistics and stockpiled relief packs, as the province begins to recover from the impact of severe tropical storm Kristine.
The governor, accompanied by Provincial Administrator Rodel Vincent Bae and Provincial General Services Officer Ferdinand Belamide, visited the command center and warehouse to ensure that relief packs, including rice and canned goods, were available and ready for distribution to heavily affected areas.
The storm, which hit the entire Luzon region, left families displaced in Cavite, prompting the provincial government to declare a state of calamity through Resolution No. 3411-2024 on Thursday.
The declaration allows for the speedy response and recovery operations, with the governor personally overseeing the efforts through the activation of the emergency operations center.
Distribution of relief packs to the coastal towns and cities of Cavite, which were heavily impacted by the storm, is expected to begin immediately.
