The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) IV-A has issued Wage Order No. IVA-21, establishing new minimum wage rates for private sector workers across various municipalities and cities in Cavite.

The order, which takes effect in two tranches, aims to address the varying economic conditions and cost of living in different areas.

The wage order categorizes locations into three main groups: Component Cities and 1st-Class Municipalities (previously known as Growth Corridor Areas), 1st Class Municipalities, and 2nd- to 6th-Class Municipalities (formerly Emerging Growth Areas and Resource-Based Areas).

For non-agricultural workers in Component Cities and 1st-Class Municipalities, including Bacoor City, Dasmariรฑas City, and Imus City, the minimum daily wage is set at 560 pesos for the first tranche, effective September 30, 2024.

Other component cities such as Cavite City, Carmona City, and General Trias City will see wages increase from 520 pesos in the first tranche to 540 pesos in the second tranche, beginning April 1, 2025.

Agricultural workers in these areas will receive a minimum of 500 pesos per day, with no increase scheduled for the second tranche.

Retail and service establishments with fewer than 10 employees are required to pay a minimum of 425 pesos per day.

In 1st Class Municipalities like Alfonso, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, and Indang, non-agricultural workers will earn a minimum of 520 pesos per day.

Agricultural wages in these areas start at 465 pesos for the first tranche, increasing to 500 pesos in the second tranche. The retail and service sector minimum remains at 425 pesos.

For 2nd- and 3rd-Class Municipalities, represented by Maragondon and Noveleta in the data, non-agricultural wages are set at 450 pesos, while agricultural and retail/service wages are 425 pesos, with no increase for the second tranche.

In 4th-, 5th-, and 6th-Class Municipalities, including Amadeo, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, and Magallanes, non-agricultural wages will increase from 420 pesos to 450 pesos between the two tranches. Agricultural and retail/service wages remain steady at 425 pesos.

The implementation of the wage order in two tranches allows employers time to adjust to the new rates, with the first increase coming into effect on September 30, 2024, and the second on April 1, 2025.
