MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTR) announced that the second and third phases of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension project are set to begin in 2026.
According to DOTR Undersecretary Jeremy Regino, minor issues with the project’s right of way have been resolved, with 80% of the necessary preparations already completed. Construction is expected to start in 2026.
The development comes after the Philippine Department of Transportation recently announced that the first phase of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2024.
