Imus City Holds Motorcycle Safety Seminar for Government Workers

IMUS, Cavite — The City of Imus Traffic Management Unit held a motorcycle safety seminar on Thursday and Friday at the Wellness Center of the New Imus City Government Center.

The two-day event, which took place on Aug. 8-9, 2024, was attended by 56 CITMU personnel and 48 Imus City government employees who operate motorcycles.

Capt. Rolando N. Fernandez Jr., CITMU deputy, Capt. Jonathan V. Zata, and Master Rider June Seculles led discussions on traffic laws, road safety precautions, violations and penalties, and proper road etiquette for motorcycle riders.

Speakers emphasized Republic Act No. 4136, known as the “Land Transportation and Traffic Code,” and Ordinance No. 2008-92, the “Imus Municipal Traffic Management Code.” They also stressed the importance of not driving under the influence of alcohol.

Special Assistant to the Mayor Jeff Purisima and CITMU Officer-in-Charge CG Commo Joey Damaso D. Velarde were also present at the seminar.

The event aimed to promote adherence to traffic laws and safe driving practices among motorcycle users to prevent road accidents.
