TANZA, Cavite — Authorities seized uncertified home appliances and electronic goods worth P8.2 million pesos from a warehouse in Tanza, Cavite province, officials said Saturday.

The Department of Trade and Industry’s Task Force Kalasag and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confiscated 4,072 items during the operation.

Philip Sawali, director of the DTI’s Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau, said the raid was part of intensified monitoring and enforcement activities ordered by Trade Secretary Fred Pascual against uncertified and substandard products.

Officials aim to ensure that all consumer products sold in the country are approved and properly certified by the government.
